Chax 是 Mac OS X 上 iChat 即时通讯软件的一款插件，提供了多种 iChat 本身没有的，确实很实用的功能特性。包括单窗口的多标签模式，可以在同一个窗口内切换多个对话窗口；可以在 Dock 的图标上显示对话者的头像和昵称；获取联系人闲置或者离开状态的时间长短；以及更为方便的聊天记录查阅工具等等。最新版本 2.1 不仅全面兼容新 Leopard 操作系统，还增加了显示全部联系人的快捷方式，对于整合多种 IM 协议的用户来说，可方便的获取目前在线的联系人列表。
