西行资讯消息，微软上周发布了 Windows Search 4.0 的预览版，更加快速、易于使用，更加容易部署和管理。另外，Windows Search 4.0 提高了搜索速度和可靠性，并能够同 Windows 操作系统无缝整合。其他新特性包括：
- 支持索引在线邮件，即使没有将邮件下载到本地也可随时搜索其内容，减轻 Exchange Server 服务器负担；
- 支持加密文件系统（EFS）搜索；
- 支持远程搜索其他 PC 上的共享文件；
- 支持组策略设置。
Windows Search 4.0 预览版支持 Windows Vista SP1、Windows XP SP2、Windows Server 2003、Windows Server 2008 以及 Windows Home Server 操作系统。
