Windows Genuine Advantage是一个在线验证Windows是否为正版的软件，必须经过认证以后，才能使用Windows在线更新服务。Windows Genuine Advantage 1.0由于使用了ActiveX控件，所以只能使用IE浏览器进行访问。由于Firefox用户的迅速增长，使得微软不得不重新考量自己的策略。最近微软提供了Windows Genuine Advantage的Firefox插件。该插件支持Firefox1.05以上版本，安装该插件后，就能用Firefox实现以前只有IE才能进行的在线验证。可以这里下载该插件。
