iChat Matte 是一个针对 iChat 即时通讯软件的界面增强软件。新增一套更为细腻的基本式样，用户可以在此基础上进行更多的自定义设置。该附加软件会覆盖原本 iChat 安装的默认文件中的 Balloon_XXX.tiff 这类式样图片资源，所以，如果你还是喜欢原来默认式样的话，只能重新下载一下 iChat 安装文件了。不过相信 iChat Matte 会更合适大部分人的视觉需求。

最新版本为 2.0，已经兼容 Leopard，更新列表如下：

- You can now use custom colors instead of being limited to the default choices
- No more white border in the "accept chat" window
